Jason Noto works as a professional screenwriter. His most recent accolades include placing as a Finalist in the 2015 Sundance Episodic Lab, the Philadelphia SIP Screenwriting Competition, and CineMart: International Film Festival Rotterdam. Additionally he participated in the Berlinale Talent Lab, being shortlisted for the Berlinale Talent Project Market, an received an invitation to the Rekyavik Talent Lab in Iceland.
In 2005, Jason wrote his first produced feature film, The Woods Have Eyes, distributed by Echo Bridge Entertainment. In the following years he wrote and directed two short films. Butcher’s Hill(2008) screened internationally, garnering Best Short Film Awards at the Mauvais Genre FF and the Melbourne International FF. And La Ricetta (2013) received international acclaim, screening at over twenty film festivals, also earning an exclusive internet premiere on Fangoria’s short film initiative Screamers. Both short films are distributed through Fearnet.TV. Jason’s original screenplay The Nail (2010), starring William Forsythe, received the Audience Award at the Philadelphia Film Festival. The Nail was promptly purchased by Showtime, rating top five in online viewers. Additionally, his original screenplay Latchkey Kid, qualified into the top 5% in the 2012 Nicholl Fellowship.
Between 2013-2014, Jason was commissioned to write Karesse the System (actor Adrian Grenier’s biographical screenplay), Dynamite: A Cautionary Tale (starring Ian Harding in post-production with IronClad Films), and Dead King Fish (a crime drama in pre-production with producer Michael Tadross Jr. slated for December 2015). Currently Rebel Yell, Jason’s first original television series, is in development with Reckless Productions and All Day Every Day Productions.
